How Much Would You Pay "Homework Elves" To Do Your Assignments?

Is it still cheating if mum and dad are on board?

Parents in Singapore are paying up to $250 an hour for "homework elves" to complete their children's assignments while the students sleep.

According to The New Paper, the parents feel they have no choice but to hand the work over, with their kids' otherwise inundated with other school tasks and co-curricular activities.

Tutors are paid approximately $200 to visit a home and finish the work (from primary school curriculum all the way to secondary school).

Should the parents rather the tutor visit after midnight, the price goes up to $250.

It is primarily the projects deemed "superfluous" by parents that get handed over to these tutors. One example cited in the New Paper's report is an essay on the pros and cons of volunteering, which one 15-year-old girl passed along to her "homework elf" for a hefty sum. The irony here is just too rich.

But, as her mother, Wendy Zeng, notes, "It's not like her grades have dropped or anything."

Would you pay for someone to do your "superfluous" homework, or do you think you'd be missing out on some important lessons?
