A US Teacher Got Caught Out for Only Letting Her Students Use the Bathroom Twice a Month

That's equivalent to one bathroom break every fortnight.

Imagine being at work or school and being told you only had two trips to the bathroom per month. That two-trip limit also included visits to the nurse's office, trips to fill up your water, or to the school's office.

For some students in a Tenessee school, that was their reality.

"Mrs White", an eighth-grade teacher from Aspire Hanley Middle School in Memphis, was found to have given a note to students offering them permission to leave the classroom for the bathroom, the nurse or the water fountain only two times over the course of a month.

The note, which read more like a contract, outlined that "failure to comply" with the note would mean an automatic detention and a "zero" mark on whatever assignments they were working on.

Mrs White admitted she was petty within the note and told students to address her after class if they had problems, but said "nothing will change."

A student's mother saw the note and published it on Twitter. As a result, Mrs White and her school have since been heavily criticised for its harsh nature. The school has promised a review of the conduct and have explained that they are "committed to correcting this error."
