Here Are The Hottest Takes From The West End Debut Of "Harry Potter And The Cursed Child"

Here's one review: "have cried about 3 times".
J.K. Rowling’s latest Harry Potter tale, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Part 1, has finally made its debut in London’s West End.
Though still in previews – it won’t officially open, or be properly reviewed, until July 30 – those lucky souls who snagged a ticket to opening night were pretty forthcoming with feelings on social media.
If you don’t want the play spoiled for you in the slightest, make like a feather and wingardium leviosa out of here. However, if you want to see what the thing at least looked like (because, let’s face it, you may not get a chance to see this in person for some time), offer up a lumos and proceed ahead. We’ll try and guess what happens with context clues.
You’ll be able to buy the published play from 31st July, so the story of #CursedChild will be available to everyone #KeepTheSecrets

Very mild spoilers ahead… maybe.
So, The Cursed Child takes place nineteen years after the events of Deathly Hallows, which you can tell by this sign outside the theatre.
A warning about the production indicates there are “pyrotechnics” and “extinguished” lighting during the course of The Cursed Child. Does this mean an incendiary Fiendfyre is unleashed during the play? As for the occasional “extinguished’ lighting – I dunno, maybe they’re just trying to save on power.

Luggage! Can we assume the play begins on a certain train platform?

Also, there are apparently live owls at work, one of which got loose in the theatre. No, it was not planned.
#HarryPotter #CursedChild 1st preview blooper! No spoilers, but... An owl just got loose in the theatre. 😆 Intermission owl hunt backstage!

Theatregoers were encouraged to #KeeptheSecrets; an attempt by Rowling to make this the next Mousetrap, perhaps.

Most spoiler-free reviews were effusive in their praise.
It's the interval at Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Stage magic in this show is wonderful. Unbelievable. And @imogenheap music great.

One, however, might have spilled something too spoilery.
Seriously, do not proceed if you want the secrets to remain as such.
WE ARE NOT JOKING AROUND HERE.
Okay, still intrigued? Keep scrolling.
