Hot Chip Vending Machines Are Coming Soon (No Seriously; Like, In June)

As Drake and Future once opined, “What a time to be alive.”
(We say that line a lot, but has it ever been used correctly before now?) Over the next 30 days, our nation’s greatest minds will begin construction on hot chip vending machines in the Perth suburb of Wangara. They’re expected to debut in eight locations across WA by June, ABC News reports, with the rest of the nation to hopefully follow. According to the company – handily named Hot Chips - the vending machines can take a frozen potato and turn it into steaming, crispy delight-sticks within two minutes and 20 seconds. Though that’s longer than most prefer to stand expectantly in front of a vending machine, in this instance, we'll make an exception. As if this wasn’t the best news any of us had heard all day, the vending machines will open up new opportunities for WA’s beleaguered potato growers, who were facing extinction following the closing of Smith’s Snackfood Company's manufacturing plant in Perth. No word on whether or not the machines will charge extra for tomato sauce or vinegar, which of course, would be a total dealbreaker. Until then, celebratory dance break!Photo: Twitter.
