Here Are All the Takeaway Places Offering Free Delivery in Perth During Lockdown

Grab yourself a lockdown feed on the cheap.

So, after 10 months of zero community transmission of COVID-19, Perth has ended up back in the arms of another lockdown period.

But as long as everyone in WA keeps practicing good hygiene and follows the lockdown rules, you should be out of it real soon (we're keeping our fingers crossed for you).

In the meantime, you’ve got to spend your days indoors doing something, right? And if you didn’t panic buy, you may be starting to run a little low on groceries.

So, this is the perfect time to order in some takeaway. Just because you can’t go to a restaurant, doesn’t mean you can’t eat the food from your fave place.

To keep your wallet as full as your stomach, some food delivery services are offering up free delivery in Perth for the whole week. So here’s what’s available:

Deliveroo

Your mates at Deliveroo have thrown Perth a bone for free delivery all week, specifically for the lockdown period.

Deliveroo is offering the promo to almost all of their partner restaurants except for KFC and any other restaurants marked as ‘delivered by restaurant'.

There is also a minimum $10 spend for each order, but let’s be honest, that’s not difficult to do.

DoorDash

Doordash, who are relatively new to the food delivery game in Australia—only made its way to our eastern shores in 2019—have also jumped on the free delivery bandwagon for Perth this week.

The offer is available all week in Perth, Bunbury and Busselton, so not just the metro area.

There is a small catch, however. You do have to spend a minimum of $20 to snag this deal, but if you’re ordering for your yourself and your roommates, that shouldn't be a problem.

Maccas

If you’re a fan of the Big Mac, you’ll defs want to take advantage of this one.

Our beloved golden arches are giving West Aussies free delivery on any of their breakfast, lunch and dinner menus across any app that they’re available from.

That includes Uber Eats, Menulog, Deliveroo and DoorDash.

The best deal, however, will depend on exactly which app you order from. Menulog has no minimum spend, so they’re the winner here, Deliveroo requires you to spend at least $10, DoorDash has a $20 minimum spend, and the top dog Uber Eats would like a hefty $25 before you can get free delivery.

Guzman y Gomez

Our fave mexican mates (at least my fave) at GYG are also partnering with several delivery services to give Perth the goods this lockdown week.

They're offering free delivery with DoorDash (woo! No minimum spend) and free delivery with Deliveroo for any purchase over $10 until 6pm on Friday 5 February.

So, what are you waiting for, go and get your guilt-free feed on!

Remember, when you're ordering food from delivery services, make sure to choose to get the food delivered to your doorstep, rather than meeting the person at your door to keep the interaction contactless.

And of course, because this is a kind of weird time and being a delivery driver isn’t the easiest job right now, consider showing your support by tipping your driver and supporting local resturants.
