Here’s the Moment Zendaya Won an Emmy for "Euphoria"

"There is hope in the young people."

Zendaya has become the youngest ever winner in the Emmy category of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, claiming the trophy for Euphoria at age 24. BTW, she only turned 24 on 1 September.

She is also only the second Black actor to win in the category, following Viola Davis in 2015 for How to Get Away With Murder. (Reminder: This is the 72nd Emmys.)

It marked the third statue to go to Euphoria this week, following prizes for Labrinth’s song "All for Us" and the show’s omnipresent eyeshadow at the Creative Arts ceremonies.

Because it's 2020, this year’s Emmy broadcast had all the nominees sitting in front of their laptops at home, socially distancing or in a family bubble, when the winners were announced.

Though it made for one, um, very weird show, it allowed for moments like this in which a winner can celebrate and be celebrated by their nearest and dearest.

Revel in the online celebrations below. It’s like you’re there!
