"Euphoria" Won an Emmy for Its Eyeshadow

Finally, an award that means something.
Not even a pandemic can stop Hollywood from congratulating itself, so the Emmys still went ahead this year, beginning with five nights of Creative Arts awards ahead of the traditional ceremony.
This year, however, all the nominees got the results at home, with Nailed It’s Nicole Byer hosting the Creative Arts announcements, and Jimmy Kimmel MC’ing the marquee show today.
Though the big acting awards are handed out during the main event, the Creative Arts Emmys see below-the-line talent (hairstylists, set decorators, title-sequence designers) recognised.
And so, if Zendaya goes home (or rather, stays home) empty handed today, losing in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category, don’t cry too hard: firstly, it’ll ruin your eyeshadow, and secondly, her show Euphoria has already won two very deserving prizes.

Most notably, the scandalous and addictive teen drama won Best Contemporary Makeup (Non-Prosthetic), which was handed out by, um, Negan from The Walking Dead. The makeup team beat out those behind Big Little Lies, The Handmaid’s Tale, Ozark, The Politician and Schitt’s Creek. And of course it did! Have you seen the eye makeup in that show?

Makeup artists Doniella Davy, Kirsten Sage Coleman and Tara Lang Shah—knowing exactly what the people want—went all out with their eyeshadow as well for their acceptance speeches.

Euphoria's composer Labrinth also won Outstanding Music and Lyrics for his wild Season 1 closing song "All for Us" (spoilers follow).
Unfortunately, there was not a category for Most D***s in a Locker Room scene, otherwise Euphoria would have been a shoo-in.
Euphoria was meant to return this year for its second season, but given the way 2020 has unfolded, who even knows anymore?
