Hayden Christensen Will Return As Darth Vader in the "Obi-Wan Kenobi" Series

Well, this is huge.

If keeping up to date with all the latest Star Wars information is your favourite activity, we've got some absolutely massive news for you.

Earlier today, Disney revealed that Hayden Christensen will reprise his role as Darth Vader in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi limited series. He'll star alongside Ewan McGregor (who played Obi-Wan in the prequel flicks).

Yes, you read that correctly. You can take a moment to let that sink in.

The announcement was made during Disney's Investor Day conference, where Lucasfilm also announced that director Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman) is set to helm the next Star Wars theatrical film.

At this stage, not a whole lot is known about the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, but it's set 10 years after the events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

Fans will remember that Revenge of the Sith saw Anakin Skywalker transform from a young padawan to sith lord Darth Vader.

While we're not too sure how the new show will pan out, we're super keen to see McGregor play the ultimate Jedi Master again.

The six-episode limited series is expected to begin filming in March 2021, after being delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic (of course).

Variety reports that Genevieve O'Reilly, Stellan Skarsgard, Kyle Soller, Denise Gough and Adria Arjona will also appear in the series.

Writer Joby Harold is penning the script, taking over for Hossein Amini who left the project back in January.

No exact release date has been confirmed for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series yet, but we'll be sure to keep you updated.
