'Harry Potter', 'Game of Thrones' & 'The Conjuring': The Entire Slate of Prequels and Spinoffs Announced by HBO Max

How many GoT series are there now?
In a massive announcement, HBO Max, HBO’s dedicated streaming service, has announced a move to rebrand to just ‘Max’.
Max is an American service, and it’s not clear if it’ll make the jump to Australia.
However in the past, all HBO and Fox products stream on Binge in Australia.
Along with the rebranding announcement, ‘Max’ has announced a host of spinoff series on some of our favourite franchises, and we don’t know how to feel about some of them.
So here’s the full rundown on everything you can expect from the streaming giant.
A Harry Potter Series.
Rumours have been circulating for a while, but Max finally confirmed a Harry Potter series is in the works.
The series will reportedly run for a whopping TEN years, with each season following a single book.
David Heyman, who produced the films, is reportedly involved alongside J.K. Rowling, the controversial author of the original books, who’ll serve as the series’ executive producer.
A Game of Thrones prequel series.
No, it’s not House of the Dragon. Max has announced a third series in the Game of Thrones Pantheon: A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Night.
The series will follow George R.R. Martin’s novellas about Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire, Egg, 90-ish years before the events of Game of Thrones.
A Batman Spinoff.
After Robert Pattinson’s The Batman saw massive popularity, Max has capitalised on that success by announcing a spinoff series surrounding Colin Farrell’s Penguin: The Penguin.
We don’t have too many details on this one, but it looks to fit in the ‘gritty crime drama’ genre we all love.
A Conjuring TV series.
The Conjuring franchise has been one of the biggest players in horror movies over the past decade, and now it’s gonna start haunting the world of TV.
We don’t know much about this one yet, but we do know the series will be produced by James Wan and Peter Safran, both who had key roles in the original films.
Those are the major announcements made so far, but there’s a few more big projects in the work.
Max have also announced they’re working on another Big Bang Theory series as well as a cartoon prequel series to Gremlins (what?).
Do we really need all these reboots, prequels and spinoffs? HBO's not alone either - Disney seems to be addicted to live action remakes rn.
Look, maybe not, but I’d be lying if I said I’m not gonna watch any.
