Xbox Have Announced a Halo-Themed Series X and Controller

And they’re both available in Australia.

Fans of the Halo game series woke up to some awesome news this morning as Xbox unveiled a Halo Infinite-themed Xbox Series X and an Elite Series 2 controller.

The news dropped on the Opening Night Live at Gamescom and it’s fair to say a lot of people (me included) are seriously considering getting their hands on at least one of these bad boys.

On top of that, we finally got a release date for the new Halo: Infinite game. Christmas came early for Halo fans, so let’s look at everything Xbox announced.

A Halo: Infinite-theme console.

First up, is the Halo: Infinite Limited Edition Xbox Series X. The console is all about honouring 20 years of Halo (wow, I feel old now) and the new console is a work of art that ties in several Halo themes.

The console has gold accents, metallic plating, and a starry night sky towards the top that is a throw to the game's intergalactic setting. To complete it, the top vent has ‘Cortana-themed’ blue accents instead of the standard green. Completing the console is a matching controller.

Elite 2 Controller.

If you’ve already got an Xbox Series X then we reckon you’re gonna want to get the Master Chief-themed controller.

This is a real throwback to Halo fans as the controller is customised to look like the Chief’s armour. The d-pad has been reworked into a metallic gold, and the ‘117’ stamp at the top is a nice nod to John-117.

Are they available in Australia?

The good news is both items are available in Australia, but you’ll have to do a little bit of legwork to secure yours.

Both JB Hi-Fi and EB Games Australia were taking pre-orders for the console, but it now looks like they’re sold out. Both were selling the customised Xbox Series X for $849.

As for the Elite 2 Halo controller, JB Hi-Fi is still taking pre-orders, so hurry and secure yours before they sell out. The controller is selling for $249.

When is Halo: Infinite coming out?

At long last, Xbox gave fans a date they can get their hands on the new game. Halo: Infinite will be hitting stores in Australia on 8 December and cost $89, just in time for Christmas.
