Your Grammys 2023 Wrap Up is Here

There were several winners this year that took out multiple categories.

The awards season is still in full-force with the Grammys taking place this morning Australian time.

Let’s get straight into it and let you know who won some of the biggest awards this year.

Best Pop Vocal Album – Harry Styles, Harry’s House.

The first award of the night was taken out by Harry Styles for his album Harry’s House. This marked his second Grammy, receiving his first for his single Watermelon Sugar in 2021 for ‘Best Pop Solo Performance.

Other nominees in this category included Lizzo’s Special, Adele’s 30, Music of the Spheres by Coldplay and Voyage by ABBA.

Best R&B Song – Beyoncé, Cuff It.

When Beyoncé won this award, she wasn’t even at the ceremony yet. After she arrived, host Trevor Noah joked ‘I was shocked to find out that traffic had stopped you – I thought you travelled through space and time.’

Best Pop Duo/Group Performance – Sam Smith and Kim Petras, Unholy.

I still can’t unhear this as ‘that catchy TikTok song’. Sam Smith and Kim Petra’s Unholy beat collabs like I Like You (A Happier Song) by Post Malone and Doja Cat, Bam Bam by Camila Cabello featuring Ed Sheeran, and My Universe by Coldplay and BTS.

Kim Petras is the first transgender woman to win this category, and Unholy made Sam and Kim the first publicly non-binary and transgender artists (respectively) to have a No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100.

Best Dance/Electronic Music Album – Beyoncé, Renaissance.

Queen B is now the biggest Grammy award winner of all time, with her 32nd Grammy win for her album Renaissance. It’s an exciting time for the Bey-hive, with last week's announcement of her Renaissance world tour.

“Thank you so much. I’m trying not to be too emotional, and I’m trying to just receive this night," she says in an emotional acceptance speech.

But can we take a minute and question why James Corden presented this award? Weird, but ok.

Album of the Year – Harry Styles, Harry’s House.

Beating out the likes of ABBA, Adele, Bad Bunny, Mary J. Blige, Brandi Charlie, Coldplay, Kendrick Lamar, Lizzo and Beyoncé was Harry Styles, taking home his second win for the night.

“I think on nights like tonight, it’s important for us to remember there is no such thing as ‘best’ in music,” Harry said, who looked in disbelief throughout the acceptance speech.

As always, fans of the other nominees are heated over this win, especially since despite Beyoncé’s 32 Grammy wins, she still hasn’t won ‘Album of the Year’.

Other Notable Winners.

Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song & Best Rap Performance – Kendrick Lamar, Mr Morale and the Big Steppers.

Record of the Year – Lizzo, About Damn Time.

Best Pop Solo Performance – Adele, Easy On Me.
