Google Is Experimenting With Black Hyperlinks To Make You Question Your Sanity

It’s all over now, baby blue.

Google is bucking decades of internet dogma by including black hyperlinks on some users’ search results.

According to Mashable, a few Googlers are now seeing black, underlined text for both clicked and unclicked links. As you can imagine, they’re very, very confused.

(You’ll remember that the entire rest of the world wide web represents hyperlinks with blue text, and previously clicked links with purple text.)

It’s not yet known why exactly Google is futzing with their text colours. Either way, in an email to Mashable, it seemed like they weren’t all that happy with the results of the test.

"We're always running many small-scale experiments with the design of the results page… We're not quite sure that black is the new blue."

Maybe try tinkering with orange instead?
