Get Out the Eyeliner: My Chemical Romance Is Touring Australia Next Year

My bulletproof heart can't take this.

It's time to grab the black clothing, put on some heavy eyeliner and relive your emo phase 'cos My Chemical Romance is officially heading to Australia next year.

Yeah, we're not okay right now.

The tour will mark the first time the band has performed down under since their Big Day Out appearances in 2012. That makes it a long ten years since the gang was down under.

We know you try not to think about it, but the band actually split up in 2013, saying, "We've gotten to go places we never knew we would. We've been able to see and experience things we never imagined possible. We've shared the stage with people we admire, people we look up to, and best of all, our friends."

That's why killjoys were, uh, filled with joy when the band announced that they'd be reuniting to headline the third annual Download Festival in Melbourne and Sydney in 2020. However, the festival was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It was utterly devastating.

But all that is in the past. Now, My Chemical Romance is set to visit Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney in March 2022.

They'll be wowing crowds at Brisbane Entertainment Centre on 14 March, before heading to Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena on 17 March. From there, they'll take the stage at Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena on 19 March.

Tickets for all three shows go on sale from 12pm AEST on Thursday, 27 May (with presale happening for Live Nation members on 26 May at 11am AEST).

You can grab tickets here. We're sure they'll sell out very quickly, so you and your intense teen angst will want to be online and ready to buy them.

Last October, frontman Gerard Way sparked speculation that fresh music from My Chemical Romance could be on the way after posting a cryptic message on Instagram.

Well, we're always up for some new music to cry to.
