Nostalgic Activities & Toys to Get Involved in These Holidays

Who remembers Tamagotchis? 🤩
Running out of things to do this summer? If swimming or heading to the beach isn't your vibe, it can be hard to find things to do that don’t involve a body of water.
Lucky for us, some of the toys and activities from our childhood have become ✨cool✨ again.
If you’re feeling a little nostalgic, you should definitely grab some of these throwback items to enjoy with your friends this summer.
Dinky diaries.

They were popular in the late 80s and 90s, but the Dinky Diary has since been revived and brought back again.
The revised version has been brought to life by two Perth sisters Chelsea and Jerilee who have brought back the original version and three more new designs too.
Chelsea told Student Edge she remembers a 19-year-old and her older sister coming up to their stall at a market and falling in love with the nostalgic product.
“Her older sister was showing her [the original one] and saying ‘I had this and you were too young for this’ and her sister said ‘oh my goodness they are so beautiful’,” Chelsea said.
“She started flipping through it and she ended up buying one of the Dinkies just for her to keep.”
So if you’ve yet to grab an organiser for 2024 yet, a Dinky Diary might just be the perfect one.

They were our family pet before our parents let us have a real one.
If you’re a Gen Z, you might have spent your childhood raising little Tamagotchi eggs to child to adult. And the classic Tamagotchi is now back!
The brand has brought back the original model due to its resurgence in popularity.
Disposable cameras/film cameras.

If you love capturing your summer memories in pictures, you should definitely purchase a disposable camera. It’s not something we grew up with, but there’s a good chance your parents had one when you were younger.
Living in a digital world, there is just something magical about not knowing what the picture you’ve taken looks like until after the film has been developed.
Friendship bracelet kits.

The millennials have slogan t-shirts but we have friendship bracelets.
Ever since we heard Taylor Swift sing the line “so make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it” in You’re On Your Own, Kid, everyone’s been loving making their own friendship bracelets and swapping them with their mates.
So if you want to jump on those group friendship vibes, grab a friendship bracelet jewellery kit for you and your friends to get stuck into.
Hair bedazzler and gems.

You might remember begging your parents for a hair bedazzler when you were a kid so you could make your hair super sparkly.
Now they've made a comeback, get ready to press them into your hair for a fun night out.
If you’ve got a dressy event or you’re attending a festival over the summer some hair gems are the perfect hair accessory. Plus, they are super low maintenance, so you don’t have to spend too much time doing your hair.

Which one of these will you be trying these hols? 😍
