Enter ‘The Good Mate Championships’ 🏀

What do you get when you put eight creators together in a room?

Great content, yes.

But also, more awareness for mental health amongst young people!

Some of your fave Aussie creators competed in the Good Mate Championships over who could be the best ‘good mate’ and get as many of their followers to register for Good Mate Training with charity ALLKND.

What is Good Mate Training?

Good Mate Training is free, digital, 60 minute peer-to-peer mental health training run by ALLKND, a Gen Z mental health training charity.

If you’ve ever had a friend or someone you know struggle with mental health issues, you’ll know it can be difficult to know what to say to them when they reach out and ask for help.

Good Mate Training is the mental health equivalent of having first aid training, so you can support your friends and be a good mate.

ALLKND worked with psychologists and researchers at The Mindful Collective to use evidence-based research to create their program.

To get more Aussies trained, ALLKND brought together some of Australia’s creators to the Instagram HQ in Sydney to see who could get as many of their followers as possible to complete Good Mate Training.

The creators who competed to take out the gong include Taz and Alessia, Jenna with the Pink, Ella Watkins, Georgia McCudden, Lily McCudden, James Parr and Cody Schaeffer.

After an intense battle, Team TANDA (Taz and Alessia) took out the gong of Champion Good Mates.

The duo even did a 24-hour livestream in the lead up to the championships to raise more awareness.

The championships may be over but anyone can participate in Good Mate Training.

So if you want to be able to speak to any friends who might be struggling now, or in the future, Good Mate Training will only take 60 mins of your day 🙌
