Gamers Are Pretty Devo About “Good Game” Being Axed by the ABC

Fans of the show Good Game were pretty distraught after finding out the show will not be returning in 2017.

In an official statement, it says: “Two of the key presenters of Good Game announced they were leaving to pursue other opportunities… the ABC has decided to end the long and successful run of the show.”

Oh…

Fans are bidding farewell to, not only, Good Game but also its associated offshoots: Good Game: Pocket, and Good Game: Well Played. For some reason, the children-focused Good Game: Spawn Point will remain in production.

For those hardcore fans, the news hasn’t been taken well.

On Twitter, hordes of the Good Game community are taking pictures of their devices with the hashtag #PutOutYourControllers.

Since the official announcement was made, show hosts Stephen “Bajo” O’Donnel and Stephanie “Hex” Bendixsen, have reached out on social media. It seems Bajo will still be a part of the ABC, but Hex appears set to move on to other projects.

Good Game first premiered on the ABC back in September of 2006; more than 400 episodes have been produced since then.

R.I.P. You will (clearly) be missed.

Update: Twist! Junkee is now reporting that Stephanie “Hex” Bendixsen and another former Good Game presenter, Nich “NichBoy” Richardson, will be launching a new gaming show on Channel Seven.
