FYI Michelle Obama Loved "Black Panther" Too

It seems almost everyone went to see Black Panther over the weekend, given its record-breaking box office haul.

That includes at least one First Lady, who apparently joined the crowds to see Chadwick, Lupita, Michael, Danai and Letitia in action.

(It’s not known if she brought hubby Barack with her, but one assumption we can safely make is that the current Presidential First Couple most likely sat this one out.)

On Twitter, the former FLOTUS couldn’t hold back her praise for the Ryan Coogler-directed flick, which not only earned the best ever Rotten Tomatoes score for a superhero movie, but also notched the fifth-best opening weekend in the United States of all time (on its way to earning $US404 million worldwide).

A quick search of Michelle Obama’s Twitter account reveals this is the only film or TV show she has ever Tweeted about, unless you count TV shows starring her husband:

If the Academy has any sense, they’ll bring her back in 2019 to announce the Best Picture winner, because we’re pretty certain she liked Black Panther a whole lot more than Argo.

In the meantime, we look forward to seeing Barack’s tweets about this landmark movie/cultural moment, though, knowing his tastes, he’s probably more invested in Kendrick Lamar’s official soundtrack right now.
