Fone Free Feb

You may already know that 2015 is the year that Marty McFly from Back to the Future II went forward in time in Doc’s supercharged Delorian.
If Marty were to land in 2015 today you’d have to apologise to him about the lack of hoverboards and flying cars but then explain that there’s this small wallet sized device that holds close to every idea ever recorded, it can track your every move, send videos through the air, it can play songs, heck, it can even talk to you. It’s called the smartphone and it sounds too sci fi to be true but it’s now our reality.
This reality is why Fone Free Feb was founded. Fone Free Feb is a campaign that invites you to host a meal for friends and family and switch off your phones to participate in lively conversation, without a connected device in sight.
Each guest makes a donation for a seat at the table, which will go towards making 11 Australian charity dreams come true. The goal is to raise $250,000 dollars in 2015.
Is cake awesome? Yes. Are smartphones and the technology they bring awesome? Yes. Should we have them both all the time, 24 hours a day? No, because nothing, even wonderful tasty cake should be consumed 24 hours a day.
If you are looking for a digital diet and want some time to connect with your friends and family, head to www.fonefreefeb.com and register to host your dinner. One dinner is all it takes.
