Flume, Troye Sivan Lead The 2016 ARIA Award Nominations

The nearly identical duo of Flume and Troye Sivan lead the 2016 ARIA Award nominations, with 11 and seven nominations, respectively.

It was announced this morning that Flume's Skin and Sivan's Blue Neighbourhood will compete against Sia's This is Acting, The Avalanches' Wildflower and RÜFÜS' Bloom for Australian Album of the Year.

Sia has a total of six nominations at the coming ceremony and will face off against Sarah Blasko, Delta Goodrem, Jessica Mauboy and Montaigne for Best Female Artist.

Flume and Sivan are up for Best Male Artist, opposite Bernard Fanning, Guy Sebastian and Illy.

The Avalanches, with three nominations to their name, go up against King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, RÜFÜS, The Veronicas and Violent Soho for Best Group. (The Veronicas, impressively, snatched three nominations just for their single "In My Blood", while their category-mates all put out albums this year. Suckers.)

The public will get to vote on Song of the Year (where The Avalanches are concerningly absent) and Best International Artist (where Twenty One Pilots are concerningly present). Get voting now.
