End of The Throne: Kanye Splits From Jay-Z’s TIDAL

It’s the end of an era; the era that was Ye-Z.

There are reports that ya boy Pablo/Yeezy and Jay are having a spat over some money (a cool $US3 million), which 'Ye believes Hov's streaming service, TIDAL, owes him.

Kanye joined up with TIDAL when it was launched a few years back as a counter to the big streaming services (Spotify and Pandora), with its promise to give more money back to the artists. 'Ye then dropped his 2016 album, The Life of Pablo, on the service exclusively for a few months before it was released to other popular sites.

It's because of that exclusive window (which West believes increased subscriptions to Tidal) that he feels he's owed more than $US3 million.

These new reports are just the latest developments in the feud between the former brothers who became friends when young Kanye first worked on Jay-Z's album, The Blueprint, back in 2001.

Their friendship probably peaked in 2011, when they teamed up to release Watch the Throne, along with this best buddy vid (featuring Aziz Ansari) for their single 'Otis'.

But their friendship, which has spanned more than a decade, seemed to have crumbled by 2014, when Bey and Jay missed the wedding of 'Ye and Kim K (couldn't resist).

Jay-Z released a new record, 4:44, over the weekend (exclusively to Tidal), which addressed the feud among many other things. In 'Kill Jay-Z', he raps:

"I know people backstab you, I felt bad too / But this 'f**k everybody' attitude ain’t natural / But you ain’t a Saint, this ain’t Kumba Ye / But you got hurt because you did cool by Ye / You give him $20 million without blinking / he gave you 20 minutes onstage, f**k what was he thinking? / ‘F**k wrong with everybody?’ is what you saying / But if everyone is crazy, you’re the one that’s insane."

True friendship doesn't exist.

All we can do is hope that Yeezy and Jeezy make up some time soon so we can finally get the long-awaited part two of Watch the Throne... but that's not looking like anytime soon.
