Emma Watson Calls Her Lawyers After Her Private Photos Are Hacked

Emma Watson is the latest target of an alleged private photo hack, and the Beauty and the Beast star is already taking legal action.

According to her publicist, “photos from a clothes fitting Emma had with a stylist a couple of years ago have been stolen.”

Her publicist insists further that these “are not nude photographs” and that her “lawyers have been instructed”.

The Guardian reports the photos are being shared on the “dark web”, which is that encrypted network that lives beneath the veneer of what we know as the internet.

Watson has frequently been a target of abuse, stemming from her speech about gender equality at the U.N. More recently, a Vanity Fair shoot generated some bizarre criticism, suggesting a slightly provocative pose negated her “feminism”. She shot back the perfect response: “I really don't know what my tits have to do with it."

Mean Girls’ Amanda Seyfried has also apparently contacted her lawyers following the publication of her “very private” photos on a gossip website, demanding they be removed.

It should be noted that, in January of this year, the gross dude behind the phishing scheme that mined nude photos of celebrities including Jennifer Lawrence back in 2014 was sentenced to nine months in jail for his crime.

Here's what Watson said at the time of that leak.
