Emma Stone Tells J-Law Why She Missed Out on “Easy A”: “Because You Suck”

Jennifer Lawrence has been given so much in life: Money. Accolades. A string of roles meant for middle-aged women.

But, even with an Oscar and an entire Hunger Games franchise behind her, there remains one thing she still covets, and can never have: Emma Stone’s part in Easy A.

During the Hollywood Reporter’s annual actress roundtable, the mother! star confessed that she had actually auditioned for the role of wise-cracking Olive, but was beaten to the part by Stone.

(Side note: This writer personally feels Emma’s recent Academy Award for La La Land was just making-up for the fact she was snubbed in 2010 for Easy A.)

“I wanted it so bad,” Lawrence said of the part. Thankfully, her good friend Emma was there with some kind words.

“Well, guess what? You didn’t get it," she said.

"You didn’t get it because you suck!”

Lawrence then jokingly shouted, “Outside!” And with that, the roundtable discussion was over, but the publication of Mortal Kombat-inspired fan fiction was only just beginning.
