EA Play is Coming to Xbox Game Pass to Make Your New Console Choice Even Harder

Making their huge catalogue of games even bigger.

The battle between consoles has really kicked off this September with both Sony and Microsoft opening up pre-orders for their newest consoles: the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X and S.

Yeah I know those are the old consoles dont @ me.

Both developers pulled out all the stops in anticipation of the pre-order release including exclusively hosting several games strictly on their consoles. Microsoft even bought out Bethesda, much to many PlayStation fans' devastation.

Xbox also announced that they would be giving players of their newest console Xbox Game Pass, a game subscription service for a yearly fee. And now they have thrown another spanner in the works by announcing that EA Play will be available on Xbox Game Pass from 10 November.

Of course, EA Play is being made available the exact same day that Microsoft officially launches both the Xbox Series X and S. No surprises here.

You will only get access to EA Play if you’re an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, so if you’re willing to fork out $10.95 a month you’ll also get to use Xbox Live Gold benefits as well as xCloud.

EA Play includes over 60 of some of EA’s most popular games including FIFA, The Sims and Mass Effect, and because Microsoft now has ownership of Bethesda they are likely to add their classic games to Game Pass as well.

For players who already have a subscription to both EA Play and Xbox Game Pass, original play subscriptions will be rounded up and converted over to Game Pass after the original EA Play is cancelled.

Any remaining time on an EA Play account over 50 days will be converted to the closest month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at a ratio of three to one, so no one will lose out.
