The DoorDash BagWagon is Here

The DoorDash BagWagon is rolling into Australia with free Dasher gear
This article is presented in partnership with DoorDash.
If you've spent any time Dashing, you already know the right gear makes the job. A solid insulated bag keeps the orders hot, and looking the part never hurts when you're rocking up to a restaurant for the twentieth time in a day. So here's some good news: DoorDash is bringing its BagWagon to Australia, and it's loaded with free premium gear for Dashers.
It's part of a bigger DoorDash moment called Paint the Town Red, and it's the first time the BagWagon has made it Down Under. Here's what it is, where it's landing, and how to grab yours.
So what exactly is the BagWagon?

The BagWagon is a pop-up that rolls into a city, parks up in the busiest delivery zones, and hands out free premium DoorDash gear to active Dashers and gig workers on the spot. No long forms, no waiting around. You walk up, you get sorted, you get back on the road.
It's been a hit in the US, and now DoorDash is bringing the same idea to Aussie streets, starting with Melbourne before heading north.
What's actually in it for you?

The whole point is free premium gear: think the DoorDash backpack and insulated bag, the proper stuff that keeps food hot and makes your deliveries that little bit easier. It's yours to keep, on the house.
One thing worth knowing though: the gear is limited and it tends to go fast, so it really is first in, best dressed. If a stop is happening near you, it pays to get there early.
Where and when can you find it?

The BagWagon kicks off in Melbourne the week of 25 August 2026, with stops planned across the CBD, Prahan, Oakleigh South, St. Kilda and Camberwell. After that, it heads up to Brisbane and the Gold Coast the week of 26 October 2026.
Exact stops, dates and times get updated as they're locked in, so before you head out, check the schedule near you on Dasher Central: Get Your Free Dasher Gear at the DoorDash BagWagon.
Who can grab some gear?
Active Dashers, first and foremost. But eligible gig workers who aren't with DoorDash yet can get involved too. You can sign up on-site and walk away kitted out, which makes it a pretty easy way to test the waters if you've been curious about picking up a flexible side hustle.
Why it's worth the detour.

Free gear is reason enough, let's be honest. But decent equipment genuinely makes Dashing smoother, from keeping orders at the right temperature to just having a bag that's built for the job. It's also a good excuse to feel part of something bigger, with DoorDash showing up in person for the people who keep deliveries moving across the city.
If you Dash around Melbourne, Brisbane or the Gold Coast, this one's worth putting in the calendar.
