Disney Has Rehired James Gunn For "Guardians of the Galaxy 3"

Less than a year after Disney fired him, James Gunn has been re-hired for Guardians of the Galaxy 3.

In July 2018, a plan by the alt-right to unseat Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn from the film franchise he helped launch was executed with astounding success.

So, how'd they do it? They dug up some old tweets Gunn had published joking about paedophilia and rape. Disney responded by dropping him.

Fans even begged Taika Waititi to take his place. He politely refused.

But now, despite refusing cast and fan requests for months, Disney has decided to give Gunn a second chance and rehire him for the third Guardians of the Galaxy.

Of course, Gunn wasn't totally canned by Hollywood prior to this announcement. Just two months ago, it was announced he would direct the sequel to Suicide Squad despite being dropped for Guardians.

The internet was divided with many unsure of all the emotions they were feeling.

He's scheduled to start work on the third Guardians instalment after Suicide Squad 2 has been completed. Regardless, expect some good news very shortly.
