“Delete Your Account”: Hillary Clinton And Donald Trump Take The Fight To Twitter

Know your meme.

Earlier this week, Hillary Clinton snagged the Democratic party’s nomination for president. (Well, not officially, but following President Obama’s endorsement and Bernie Sanders’ increasingly polite rhetoric, you can pretty much guarantee she’ll be crowned the nominee at next month’s democratic convention).

With that, she’s officially pivoting towards her rival for America’s throne, presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump.

And how’s she planning on tackling the Donald? With some dank meme action!

On Twitter today, HRC responded to a Tweet in which Trump referred to her as “Crooked Hillary” with the internet’s favourite dismissive declaration: “Delete your account”.

Hillary Clinton

Experts and pollsters agreed: sick burn. Only trouble is, Hill is in a bit of a pickle at the moment, given she’s under investigation for running a private email server while acting as Secretary of State, during which time she deleted more than 30,000 emails (which she described as ‘personal’).

Hence, this comeback.

Donald Trump

Yes, this is how the Presidential campaign will be won. In 140 characters, or less.

Funnily enough, Clinton’s first brush with meme-culture – pictured at the top of this article – is precisely what inspired an investigation into her email server in the first place.

It was revealed this week that when the pic of Clinton holding a blackberry went viral, officials began inquiring to see if she had been assigned a state.gov address. And the rest is history. Sorry, her-story.
