Daisy Ridley Turns Down Dude's Rapping Formal Invite, Citing Staring Contest With Luke Skywalker

The Internet’s new favourite person, Daisy Ridley, continues to charm everyone on Instagram… even when she’s rebuffing a dude’s invitation to his school formal.

In February, North Carolinian college student (and Star Wars fan, obvs) Kevin Carlock dropped a musical invite to Ridley on YouTube, asking if she would be his date for Davidson College’s upcoming dance.

Key verse: “Hey Ms. Ridley, come to formal with me. You’ve got a lot of fans, but you’ve gotta pick me.”

Real talk? It wasn’t great. But points for trying, Kev.

Instead of ignoring it entirely, the graceful Ridley pointed out to Kevin that she has a prior engagement; specifically, an “intense staring competition” with your boy Luke Skywalker.

Kevin can at least take solace in the fact she's really off making Star Wars: Episode VIII right now. (Maybe she'll put you on her album though, bro!)

The sequel to The Force Awakens is not due in cinemas until December 2018, sadly. We'll just have to remain delighted by her social media presence in the meantime.
