Could Oprah Winfrey Take On Donald Trump in the Next US Election?

2020 might be the weirdest, scariest election in U.S. history.
In case you've missed all the headlines (how though?), the 75th Golden Globes was on yesterday and a whole bunch of interesting things occurred. In the first Golden Globes of the post-Weinstein era, most of Hollywood's female actors wore black in solidarity with the victims of sexual violence, badges that read "Time's Up" and brought community activists as dates instead of their partners.
Natalie Portman also made a pretty directed dig at some of the categories which still featured solely male nominees.

It's a pretty tumultuous time for Hollywood as they uproot the old ways. Let's hope that continues this year.
But probably the most talked-about moment of the awards show was Oprah Winfrey's speech.
Oprah was offered the Cecil B. DeMille Award, which is awarded to people who have given "outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment". After accepting her award, she delivered a gracious speech denouncing the prevalent sexual violence in Hollywood and inspiring young women to keep fighting.
"I've interviewed and portrayed people who have withstood some of the ugliest things life can throw at you, but the one quality all of them seem to share is an ability to maintain hope for a brighter morning, even during our darkest nights," Oprah said.
"So, I want all the girls watching here now to know that a new day is on the horizon.
"And when that new day finally dawns, it will be because of a lot of magnificent women, many of whom are right here in this room tonight, and some pretty phenomenal men fighting hard to make sure that they become the leaders who take us to the time when nobody ever has to say, 'Me too' again."

Because of how eloquent and passionate the speech was, Oprah fans started whispering on Twitter about the possibility of her running in the 2020 election against (we assume) Donald Trump.
While it does sound like a wonderful idea, can the U.S. really handle another celebrity-turned-politician? I guess, at this stage, nearly anyone would be better than the current option.

You can watch the whole eight-minute speech below.
