You Can Start Getting Your Milk and Bread From Macca’s Drive-Thru 'Cause of Coronavirus

Grab the essentials without leaving your car.

It is important to practice social distancing as much as possible amid the COVID-19 outbreak. However, it can get tricky when you still need to go to the shops to buy food and other household items.

Well, that’s about to get a whole lot easier thanks to McDonald’s.

The fast-food giant has announced that, from today, on top of their usual takeaway menu, they’ll also be selling milk and bread via the drive-thru.

"In addition to our usual Macca’s menu, customers will also be able to pick up two or three-litre bottles of full cream or skim milk, as well as packs of English muffins and gourmet bread rolls," a McDonald’s Australia spokesperson told 10 daily.

At this stage, it's not clear how much these items will cost (they seem to differ depending on your location), however, Macca's say they'll mirror Woolworths prices. To see the prices for your nearest store, check the menu in the mymacca's app (you can find the items under 'To Share').

Here's what we saw:

It’s a safe way to pick up your milk and bread, especially considering McDonald’s has also introduced contactless service and contactless payment options.

"Our contactless service removes any need for touch contact between our employees and customers, making it a safe way for people to get food and drinks, as well as these essential basics," the spokesperson added.

Last Week, McDonald’s restaurants put a stop to customers dining-in after the government banned all non-essential indoor gatherings.

Of course, you can still go through the drive-thru, purchase takeaway food in stores, and even get home delivery if you’re dreading leaving your couch.

Remember: if you need a drink to wash down those English muffins, Student Edge members get a free small drink with purchases over $4. (Yes, you can still use the deal at drive-thru.)
