"Cobra Kai" Season 3 Will Arrive on Netflix in January 2021

Plus, a fourth season is on the way.
Is there anything worse than being left on a massive cliffhanger? No, there isn't. And if you've recently finished binge-watching Cobra Kai on Netflix, you'll know that the Season 2 finale really left us hanging.
Naturally, all viewers have been patiently impatiently waiting to find out when Season 3 of the series will land on the streaming service.
Considering S3 has already been filmed and edited, fans were fully expecting the American action comedy-drama show to arrive on Netflix later this year.
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Cobra Kai will debut this year after all. Over the weekend it was confirmed that Season 3 will instead land on Netflix on 8 January 2021.

But hey, at least we've finally got an official release date.
Plus, the official Cobra Kai Twitter account also revealed that the series has been renewed for a fourth season.
Created by Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Heald, Cobra Kai is based on the Karate Kid franchise, and is set a whole 34 years after the original Karate Kid film.
It brings back Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) decades after their iconic fight at the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament.
Upon rescuing Miguel Diaz (Xolo Maridueña) from a gang of school bullies, Johnny reopens the Cobra Kai karate dojo, and becomes the new sensei to outsiders and bullied children. When Daniel discovers that the Cobra Kai has reopened, it reignites their feud.
The first two seasons of the show were initially released on YouTube Premium (or YouTube Red as it was previously known), but the rights to the show were acquired by Netflix, and the first two seasons landed on the streaming service on Friday 28 August. Since then, it has surged in popularity.

It's safe to say that none of the characters—except maybe Martin Kove's John Kreese—were in a good place at the end of S2.
In the season finale, a fight between Sam (Mary Mouser) and Tory (Peyton List) erupted into an all-out brawl in the school. Everyone from both Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do was involved, with many of the students suffering injuries.
The brawl came to an end when Robby (Tanner Buchanan) knocked Miguel over a railing, cracking his spine and putting him in critical condition in the hospital.
Towards the end of the season finale, we also saw Kreese training the Cobra Kai students, who blame Johnny for what happened to Miguel.

What will happen in Season 3?
Not a whole lot is known about the plot for S3, but a few clues were revealed in Netflix's new teaser trailer.
In the short snippets, Johnny appears sullen and beaten up, suggesting he's undoubtedly on a downward spiral. Additionally, we also see a shot of Robby in a juvenile detention centre.
Hawk (Jacob Bertrand) is also shown with a new tattoo and bloody knuckles. Is he Kreese's new favourite student? It's definitely possible!
Most importantly, we see Miguel open his eyes, which means he's well and truly alive.
In an interview with Collider back in August, Zabka teased a potential time jump.
"He wasn't doing too well at the end of Season 2, and you know, it picks up a little bit later in time," Zabka said.
On top of that, Macchio confirmed to EW that Daniel will return to The Karate Kid Part II's setting of Okinawa.
"For Season 3, something I can tease is that, albeit we have a lot of cleaning up to do based on the events of Season 2, some of the stories will dive into the origins of both Miyagi-Do Karate and Cobra Kai," he said.
"Like, the beginnings of those two forms of martial arts, and we'll learn stuff about both that we never knew. And that includes LaRusso going to Okinawa, which is a piece of Season 3."
So, what can we expect from Season 4?
At this stage, all details about Season 4 are being kept tightly under wraps.
The Netflix teaser trailer points to S4 being "in training", so we can assume that the script is still being finalised.
We'll keep you updated as soon as we know more about the release date and plot.
Until then, continue mastering all the karate moves you can.
