Chris Hemsworth Has Donated $1 Million Towards Bushfire Relief

He’s urged people to donate what they can.
Over the past week, many celebrities have made significant donations towards bushfire relief, to help Australia fight and recover from the devastating fires.
American superstar Pink offered up $500,000 to help fire services, and Russell Crowe handed over 19 cheques worth $105,000 to Rural Fire Service (RFS) Captain John Lardner.
I am totally devastated watching what is happening in Australia right now with the horrific bushfires. I am pledging a donation of $500,000 directly to the local fire services that are battling so hard on the frontlines. My heart goes out to our friends and family in Oz ❤️ pic.twitter.com/kyjDbhoXpp

As of writing this, comedian Celeste Barber has helped raise $40 million, and that number continues to grow, with stars such as Keith Urban, Nicole Kidman and tennis player Ash Barty also making generous donations.
Earlier today, Australian actor Chris Hemsworth proved he’s worthy of real-life hero status by announcing on Instagram that his family will personally donate a whopping $1 million towards bushfire recovery.
"We’re really still in the thick of it here," Hemsworth said in the video announcement.
"What we need is your support, and your donations. I’m going to put forward a million dollars, and I was hoping that all of you could contribute in any way, shape or form. Every dollar counts."
In the caption, he wrote, "Like you, I want to support the fight against the bushfires here in Australia."
Hemsworth also added links to 13 different organisations and charities that you can donate to, including Australian Red Cross, Wildlife Warriors, NSW Rural Fire Service, and St Vincent De Paul Society.

Today, there has been some rainfall in New South Wales, Victorian and South Australian bushfire-affected areas, but worse fire conditions are forecast to return. At least 56 homes have been destroyed on Kangaroo Island, and two more people have been reported missing south of Eden in NSW.
