Shhhhhh, are you ready? Time to spill the beans on one of my fondest memories of a cheeky lil' place located in Hawthorn, Glenferrie.

As three girls out for lunch on a pleasant day, we knew we wanted to go to a trendy place with good Instagram photo opportunities. Fonda was the perfect fit; a bright and colorful restaurant with bold colors, delivering the perfect summer vibes.

We were greeted by friendly waiters and seated in a comfy yet chic cube within the place. There were mini pumpkins hanging by a thread and quirky lights in every corner, with dim and calming music in the background. An introduction to the menu was given and the ordering process began.

Quesadilla

I ordered a pork quesadilla and among us we shared a bowl of chips with mayo (all pictured). The presentation of the food was pleasing to the eye, served in colorful bowls with simple garnishes. That's all without even mentioning the taste; the quesadilla was bursting with flavors from the marinated tender pork, spinach, cheese and pico de gallo. The tangy sauce proved to be a worthy companion and provided a happy flavor marriage. We also happily munched on a side of crispy chips dipped in a creamy mayo which pleased our inner carbs goddess.

The total came to around $18 for all of us and we left the decorative and vibrant restaurant with a full stomach and a smile. Would absolutely recommend Fonda for a nice lunch date or even a solo study session.
