"Cats" Trailer Provides Pure Nightmare Fuel

Not even Queen Taylor Swift can pull off that CGI fur.
If you have been on the internet at all today, you would know the new trailer for Cats is finally here. In the event that you have somehow miraculously managed to evade it, paws whatever you’re doing and watch it now.
It is a true experience.
Tom Hooper’s adaptation of the 1981 Broadway musical boasts a star-studded cast, including the likes of Idris Elba, Judi Dench, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, Jason Derulo, James Corden and Australia’s own Rebel Wilson.
For those of you who have watched the trailer and feel nothing but immense confusion, that is totally valid. Basically, the plot follows a tribe of cats who must decide which one will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life, over the course of a single night.

Don’t worry, it will make sense if you see the film. Maybe.
While musical theatre fanatics have rejoiced at seeing their favourite stars sporting CGI fur, others have found it incredibly disturbing…

Not even Taylor Swift is immune from the memes today, despite Swifties insisting she looks purr-fect.

While everyone has been busy debating whether cat James Cordon or cat Jason Derulo provides greater nightmare fuel, fans of the musical have defended the trailer, reminding everyone that it is supposed to be weird.
honestly this is actually a pretty cool rendition of the musical itself in the way that it didn’t completely take away the weirdness in this musical by making the casts look like a legit cat. from what i know, cats the musical is supposed to be weird, not cute. https://t.co/qHJatJwRbU

As long as Jason Derulo sings "Jason Derulo" at some point during the film, everything should be fine.
Cats is scheduled for release in Australia on 26 December 2019.

Is it weird that all I see are people in Cat costumes? If the cats looked more like Garfield, maybe everyone would stop complaining. I seem to be immune to this "Nightmare fuel". My toenail is scarier than those pictures.
