Cardi B Says There "Never" Was a Feud With Nicki Minaj, Which Is Awkward, Given Nicki's New Songs

Beef-Squashing Week continues apace in the music industry.

Cardi B has insisted she "never was feuding with anybody," after being asked about the roiling drama between her and Nicki Minaj on Howard Stern’s radio show, Vulture reports.

Cardi and Nicki were spotted having a conversation at the Met Gala earlier this week, with many speculating about the content of their conversation, given recent, ahem, bad blood.

Rumours of a feud began swirling in April, when Minaj told Zane Lowe there had been some disrespect from Cardi when she joined Minaj and Migos’ collaboration, "Motorsport".

She then jumped on Twitter to reiterate her complaint about Cardi’s claim Nicki “changed the verse” on their song.

Minaj then dropped the singles "Chun-Li" and "Barbie Tingz", featuring what sounded like subtle digs at Cardi.

Key "Barbie Tingz" lyric: "Rap b****** tell they team, 'Make 'em like Barbie'/ Had to come off IG so they can't stalk me/ All they do is copy looks, steal music too."

Key "Chun-Li" lyric: "Oh, now she tryna be friends like I forgot."

Earlier this week, the video for "Barbie Tingz" dropped, showing Nicki taking on a be-wigged poseur, who may be former feudee Remy Ma, but is also possibly Cardi.

Of course, that all took place before the Met Gala.

Cut back to today, with Cardi telling Stern she simply talked with Minaj about the small "issue", and how it’s the fans who made it into "a big thing".

"There was a misunderstanding … I didn’t wanna ever talk about it in public because I felt like we gonna see each other again and we will talk about it, and it’s always like little issues."

We now await their reconciliation single—or at least a conciliatory Insta story—for the cycle to be complete.
