Can You Still Buy a PS5 Before 2021? Sony Says Yes

Sony has confirmed 'more PS5 inventory' is on the way.
Anyone who missed out on snagging a pre-order or a launch day console of the PS5 knows how popular and hard to get this year’s console release has been.
With most of us visiting JB Hi-Fi and EB Games’ websites every day to check for a restock, we’ve been left wondering if we’ll even be able to get our hands on one by Christmas.
Well, we might be in luck because yesterday PlayStation announced on Twitter that they would be bringing more stock to retailers before the year's end.
It’s not a before Christmas guarantee, but I’ll take it.
It isn't clear if Sony is referring to a worldwide restock or if it was just meant for US customers, but based on the lack of information, it looks global (it'll do).
PlayStation also stated that this release was their biggest console launch ever, with the demand being ‘unprecedented’ (understatement of the year).
I guess it makes sense that the demand was so high. After all, they did launch just over a month before Christmas, so I’m sure everyone wants to see a PS5 under their Xmas tree.
Without any exact numbers, it’s hard to tell if PlayStation is referring to how many consoles were purchased, how many were pre-ordered, how many were bought by retailers or all the above.
Basically, the tweet is more of a thank you to their customers than an announcement just yet.
Restocks for these high-tech consoles are always a bit all over the place because of scalpers, deliveries and sales issues with retailers, along with the fact that they’re probably really hard to manufacture.
Anyway, if you keep an eye out and you’re quick, you should be able to score a PS5 sometime next month. There are, however, no specifics on how many will be available or when.
Sony has advised customers to keep in touch with their retailers, so maybe give JB another Google.
