By Season Three, the Main Women of "Westworld" Will Have Equal Pay

Spoilers for Season One of Westworld are going to be sprinkled throughout this one, so tread carefully.
They might be about to reclaim their agency in Season Two of Westworld, but, in the real world (?), Evan Rachel Wood and Thandie Newton are not paid the same as their male counterparts, Anthony Hopkins and Ed Harris.

To fix this discrepancy, HBO is making a concerted effort to rectify any pay discrepancies between female and male actors and have already announced that, going forward, they'll be correcting that.
Thandie Newton, who plays the unmistakably badass Maeve, told Vanity Fair she was negotiating with HBO to be paid more in line with her male co-stars by the third season.
"It's really exciting. It's unprecedented. It's—goodness; it shatters so much calcified pain, resentment, frustration. It just shatters it."
Last month, Evan Rachel Wood, the doe-eyed-cowgirl-turned-savage-serial-killer Dolores, revealed that she would also be receiving the more pay by Season Three.
She explained at Westworld's Tribeca premiere that the way forward is to be more open and transparent about pay.
"It's an uncomfortable conversation to have, but I think people have to start being more open and talking to each other about it, and peers have to start talking about it," she said.
"Otherwise, the silence keeps perpetuating it, you know? It makes it easier to do shady dealings. So I think we're all gonna have to just kind of be uncomfortable for a second so that we can sort it out."
Cheers to equality, hey.

You can catch Season Two of HBO's Westworld on Foxtel from today.
