Brendan Dassey (The Kid In "Making A Murderer") Has Been Freed From Prison By A US Judge

Brendan Dassey, who featured in Netflix's Making A Murderer documentary series, has been released from prison.
The Wisconsin-based Dassey, 27, rose to notoriety after being featured in the Netflix original series about the murder of Teresa Halbach.
He was 16 years old when accused of helping his uncle, Steven Avery, in the murder of Ms. Halbach, a 25-year-old photographer.
Both Dassey and his uncle, Steven Avery, were sentenced to life in prison.
Dassey's murder conviction has since been overturned, although, the BBC reports prosecutors are trying to appeal this decision.
His release rests on the conclusion that Dassey's confession was involuntary. The courts found the manner in which he was interviewed to be coercive, and under the false promise that "he would not be punished".
Our bet is that Brendan Dassey will be at his family's Thanksgiving table no matter what Wisc. AG files. #MakingAMurderer #Justicerules

Judge William Duffin ordered that Dassey be freed from incarceration immediately.
He has since been placed under supervision, until the next course of action is confirmed. Under his release conditions he cannot have any contact with Ms Halbach's family, or his uncle, Avery.
According to The New York Times, Judge Duffin said authorities have "failed to demonstrate that Dassey represents a present danger to the community".
The ruling took note of his prison disciplinary record as being "exceedingly benign". He was seen as cooperative and required very minimal supervision.
