“Bluey” Has Been Listed in the Top 100 Sitcoms of All Time

It even beat Schitt’s Creek!

The incredible has been achieved by kid’s cartoon Bluey as Rolling Stone have listed the Australian show in the top 100 best sitcoms of all time.

Joining the likes of The Simpsons, Big Mouth and The Big Bang Theory, the humble little show about a six-year-old blue heeler is now fighting among the heavyweights, breaking into the top 100 at #96.

Hey, it’s a start.

The list according to Rolling Stone is made up of only English-language comedies mainly from the states with a few British, Canadian—and now Australian—in there as well.

“From family stories to band-of-misfits hangouts, classic rom-coms to workplace mockumentaries, cringe comedies to antihero showcases, and some shows defy definition," the publication wrote.

"These are the hundred series that have made us laugh, think, occasionally cry, and laugh all over again.” 

That’s quite the criteria. Given that’s the benchmark, we’re pretty stoked that Australia has featured in this list with Bluey, outranking Emmy-winning show Schitt’s Creek in the process.

The series is massively popular in Australia, known for being heartwarming and genuine while also sharing the challenges of growing up (and the funny struggle of parenthood).

Producer of the show Daley Pearson took to Twitter to express just how surprised he was at the inclusion.

“Bluey just made Rolling Stone’s list of 100 sitcoms of all time. Created by Joe Brumm and all made under one roof at Lude in Brisbane Australia,” Pearson wrote.

“Thank you for all your support of the show on here and to ABC TV for being Bluey’s 1st supporters.”

This isn’t the first time Bluey has claimed international attention. Last year the show took home an International Emmy Kids Award.
