The Full "Big Brother VIP" Cast Has Supposedly Been Leaked and It's Controversial

The Daily Mail revealed the rumoured list last night.
With the airing of Big Brother VIP just around the corner, the rumours about who will and won’t make the cast have been swirling like crazy. Just last month, we broke down a few of the first names that were tipped to go into the new Aussie house, but now at least another nine names have joined the infamous list.
It’s both spicy and confusing.
According to a leak by the Daily Mail, the full list of ‘celebrities’ joining the social experiment include some Aussie actors and reality TV stars, some big US celebs, as well as some names that you might have to Google.
So much for “Australia’s best-known celebrities” Channel 7.

As we’ve reported so far, it looks like Married at First Sight participant Jessika Power, and American media personality Caitlyn Jenner are on board. Neil Patrick Harris was also tipped to join, but has since been taken off the list as he flew back to the US in June.
Far-right political commentator Katie Hopkins was also supposed to join the cast but was quickly booted out of the country after deliberately trying to breach her hotel quarantine in Sydney and spreading COVID-19 misinformation.
So, without further ado, here’s the updated list of names.
Thomas Markle Jr.
One of the biggest names that’s apparently joined the BBVIP cast is Meghan Markle’s half-brother: Thomas Markle Jr.
Now, we’d of course forgive you for not knowing his name before this, but considering he’s related to a member of the British royal family, he could be considered celebrity. Thomas apparently replaces Katie after being sent back to the UK.
Thomas has a reputation for talking poorly of his half-sister Meghan publicly, as well as being arrested for allegedly violent acts.
Imogen Anthony.
Here’s another name to add to your Google search list: Imogen Anthony, who is considered ‘celebrity’ due to her previous (now ended) relationship with Aussie radio host Kyle Sandilands.
Aside from her past relo with Kyle, it looks like Imogen is a regular ol’ influencer with over 179K followers on Instagram so she could also turn out to be another interesting player.
Bernard Curry.
Now here’s a name you might know a little bit better. Australian Wentworth, Neighbours and Home and Away actor Bernard Curry has made it to the BBVIP list.
Mostly known for his role as Jake Stewart in Wentworth, Bernard is a pretty iconic Aussie talent, so fingers crossed we’ll see some cool things from him.

Omarosa Manigault Newman.
Another name you might not have heard before is Omarosa Manigault Newman.
Despite her clear lack of celebrity reputation down under, she was actually the Director of Communications and political advisor to Donald Trump when he was President of the United States.
With the addition of Omarosa, Thomas, Caitlyn and the previous addition of Katie, Channel 7 has been criticised for including such a large portion of conservative viewpoints into the reality TV show.
Celebrity Big Brother is usually well known for its contrasting opponents and political discussions, but some fans have pointed out that the political viewpoint of most revealed cast members is very one-sided.
Aside from being another conservative cast member, Omarosa also looks to be the only person of colour cast on the show, which is honestly really disappointing for representation.

Matt Cooper and Dayne Beams.
If you’re a fan of footy or Aussie sports, you might recognise the next two names on this list.
Former footy players Matt Cooper and Dayne Beams have also supposedly signed on as housemates this year.
If you’re not a sports fan, Matt is an NRL player who played for the St. George Illawarra Dragons, with which he helped win the 2010 NRL grand final.

Dayne on the other hand is a former Collingwood AFL player.
Honestly, the introduction of some footy players to the list is no surprise. Australia can’t have a celeb reality TV show without including at least one ex-sports player, right?

Ellie Gonsalves.
Another name on the list is an Australian model, actress and Wildlife Warriors Ambassador Ellie Gonsalves.
She’s appeared in the films Zebra and Fighting with My Family but is most well known for her Yellowtail Super Bowl commercial and modelling for L’Oreal and GUESS.
She also has 1.2 million followers on Instagram, so I’m sure a few fans will be happy to see her name on the BBVIP list.

Luke Toki.
Calling all Australian Survivor diehards: former Australian Survivor and Australian Survior: Champions v Contenders star Luke Toki is tipped to sign on as a housemate.
Not exactly new to the reality TV spotlight, Luke is a fan fave for his funny personality and witty one-liners, so he’ll hopefully bring some much-needed party vibes into the house.

Josh Carroll.
And finally, to add another influencer to the line-up, 31-year-old model Josh Carroll is rumoured to be joining the cast.
Again, I would not blame you if you’re needing to do a cheeky Google search for this one, but Josh is most well known for his work with brands like teamm8 and Topman Australia.

So, that’s it. With this mixed bag lineup of uh, ‘celebrities’, I honestly have no idea what to expect, but it is sure to ruffle some feathers.
Fingers crossed that despite all the controversial characters included, things are kept respectful and fair but it’s honestly a waiting game at this point.
Filming is due to start this week and the cast will all be put up in the newly erected Big Brother house at Sydney’s Olympic Park.
Watch this space for any further updates to the cast.
