It’s Official: Ben Affleck Will Direct His Very Own Batman Flick

Dry your eyes, Sad Affleck. You can make your very own Batman flick now.

Warner Bros. has confirmed what everyone else in the world considered an inevitability: Ben Affleck will direct and star in a solo Batman feature for the studio.

The announcement was made by WB studio head Kevin Tsujihara at Cinemacon, Mashable reports.

It will be Affleck’s third appearance as Bats on the big screen, following his debut in last month’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the coming Suicide Squad.

Though much noise has been made over Batman v Superman’s devastating reviews and diminishing box office returns, there’s no denying this fact: the movie had made $785 million worldwide in just 18 days of release. So, yeah, WB is going to keep making these little DC movies for a while yet.

It’s not known exactly when Affleck’s lone Batman movie will arrive, but Wonder Woman and the first Justice League are both set for 2017.

We bet he’s psyched for the press tour.
