Beloved Korean Boy Band BTS Is Taking A Well-Deserved Break

Fans have been incredibly understanding.

Big Hit Entertainment, the management company behind Korean boy band BTS, has announced in a Twitter statement that the boys will be taking an "official and extended period of rest and relaxation."

Considering the group formed in 2013 when they were just teens, it is completely understandable that they would want some time away from the spotlight.

In their statement, translated to English, Big Hit Entertainment said, "This will also provide them with the chance to enjoy the ordinary lives of young people in their 20s, albeit briefly."

They added, "Should you have a chance encounter with a member of BTS while they are on vacation, we ask that you show consideration for their need to rest and enjoy their private time off."

Over the past five years, BTS have basically taken over the world. The band has released six studio albums, toured in five continents, and they have grown their Twitter following to 16.5 million.

While the announcement has left our hearts shattered, the ARMY has actually been pretty chill about the whole thing. Well, as chill as they can be at a time like this.

The break comes only a month after BTS’ RM teamed up with Lil Nas X for another remix of "Old Town Road", and the release of their behind-the-scenes documentary, Bring the Soul: The Movie.

Although the band was absent from this year’s Teen Choice Awards, it has been announced that they have taken out four award categories, including Choice International Artist, Choice Collaboration, Choice Summer Tour, and Choice Fandom.

Big Hit Entertainment is yet to confirm when the boys are set to return. But for now, we hope they are feeling nothing but vacation vibes.
