Lil Nas X Saddles Up With RM From BTS For "Seoul Town Road"

"Old Town Road" keeps riding strong.

It appears that Lil Nas X is taking "I’m gonna ride til' I can’t no more" literally, releasing yet another official remix of his mega popular "Old Town Road". The artist to jump on the horse this time is South Korean rapper RM from BTS, and the song has been retitled "Seoul Town Road".

As well as the new feature and title, the album artwork has also got a complete makeover, sporting a purple horse in representation of the BTS Army, who use the colour to express their love and trust in the popular K-pop band. The Korean boy-band leader also makes reference to "homis", a popular gardening tool in South Korea.

With the song clinging onto the number one position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, it is a clever move from the young American artist, who is gunning for longest consecutive time in the top spot in the U.S. Having spent 16 weeks at the summit, the country rap bop is now tied for the record with Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s "One Sweet Day" and Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s remix of "Despacito" featuring Justin Bieber.

The song is currently spending its 13th week as the number one single on the ARIA Charts, but it will have to ride on two weeks longer if it hopes to beat Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You", which spent 15 weeks at the top spot in 2017.

But, the help from RM could give “Old Town Road” the momentum it needs to ride the home-stretch and take out the record.

This is the fifth official version of the song, and at this point it's really feeling like there is no end. Even Mariah Carey has volunteered to jump on the bandwagon, but the K-pop star was the chosen one this time around.

And it appears RM was the perfect choice to send the internet into pure meltdown, with #SeoulTownRoad trending number one on Twitter yesterday.
