Australia’s Barking Dog Man Returned to “A Current Affair” to Recreate His Iconic Growl

This is barking amazing.
Let’s take a trip down memory lane: it’s a regular ol’ weeknight in 2010 and you’re watching A Current Affair with your ‘rents while you eat dinner.
All of a sudden, this wild bloke appears on the show and demonstrates the most dramatic—and somehow the most Australian—performance of some aggressive dogs.
This was the day the barking dog man meme was born, and if you haven’t yet seen it, are you even Australian?
The video we’re referring to is of Marsfield, NSW resident Ray Graham, when he appeared on A Current Affair to tell the story of two angry doggos that were terrorising his neighbourhood.
Not only was he super invested in telling this story, but his Oscar-worthy acting took the world by storm when it went viral online.
Several Facebook pages were made in Ray’s honour, while parodies and remixes flew around everywhere online. Even CNN picked it up, playing the audio to a pack of dogs who were scared off by the sound.
For me it’s the phrase, “they came bounding over.” What a cracker.
Now, just nine years down the track, Ray reappeared on A Current Affair to recount what his life has been like since he went viral (and to give us a rendition of the barking, of course).
He told A Current Affair how his life has been ‘defined’ since the airing of the short clip and people still ask him for photos and videos when he’s out in public today.
A Current Affair reporter Leila McKinnon then asked Ray to give his dog barking impression another crack, and after a few deep thoughts, he came through with the goods.
Leila also asked Ray how on earth his wife was so unphased by his original performance (the question that's been on everyones' minds for nearly 10 years), and he answered that she was more worried about her hair that day. Clearly, his over the top performance is the norm.
May this be written in the history books.
