An All-Female "Lord Of The Flies" Movie Has Been Announced and People Aren't Feeling It

An all-female remake of the classic tale Lord of the Flies has been announced and it's gotten some peoples' feathers ruffled.
The story, written by William Golding in 1954, follows the lives of a group of boys who get stranded on a deserted island after a plane crash and attempt to recreate a society.
As can be expected, the outcome is violent and competitive and is often regarded as an allegory for what happens when you let unbridled toxic masculinity take control over a society.
If it seems familiar but you haven't watched it, you may have seen The Simpsons' adaptation.
So, in 2017, two men have decided to take on a *brave* approach and replace all the boys with females. Deadline reported that Scott McGehee and David Siegel have signed a deal with Warner Brothers to make the film, but with a twist: They explained to Deadline "[the new adaptation] breaks away from some of the conventions, the ways we think of boys and aggression."
People were rightfully baffled.
how about a lord of the flies remake where the island is already full of men and all the little girls just eat them

An all women remake of Lord of the Flies makes no sense because... the plot of that book wouldn't happen with all women.

The all-female Lord of the Flies movie will just be 2 hours of the girls enjoying not having their jokes mansplained to them.

It comes just a few days after a television series reboot of 1989's beloved high school drama/horror, Heathers, was announced. People aren't too keen on their fave being made into an updated television series.

Um, so next time you want to make an all-female remake, just remember who runs the world (through non-violent means).
