"It's Weird": Amy Shark Talks The Massive Success Of Hottest 100 Hit "Adore"

Those in the know weren't surprised to hear Amy Shark's "Adore" coming in second place during this year's Hottest 100 broadcast on Triple J.

In fact, some punters were dead-set that the singer-songwriter would take the top spot, though she was inevitably pipped at the post by that pesky Flume. (Fluuuuuume!)

However, those who weren't initially familiar with the tune have quickly fallen for it. And hard. In the weeks following the January 26 countdown, "Adore" has climbed all the way to #3 on the ARIA singles charts.

It's an incredible feat for an artist who, not so long ago, had to beg her friends to see her live in concert.

"Now, my friends are like, 'How do we get tickets? It's already sold out,'" she told Student Edge, on the eve of her first headline tour.

"I'm like, 'Well, snooze, you lose.'"
