AFP Steps Up Security At Australian Airports Following Brussels Bombing

If you’re planning on travelling this Easter weekend, expect increased security around the airports.
The Australian Federal Police has stepped up their presence across all major international airports across the country, following the attack on Brussels Airport yesterday.
According to the SMH, a planned Border Force strike – including a 24-hour stoppage on Thursday – has also been delayed, following a request by Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull. The death toll for the Brussels bombing sits at 34, with more than 200 others injured.
Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attacks, which targeted the Belgian capital’s airport and underground train station. The airport explosions occurred in the check-in area, before boarding passes or identification need to be displayed.
PM Turnbull was asked on ABC Radio whether or not Aussie airports should introduce tighter security in similar areas.
"We have not got advice on any changes in that regard at this stage. But every single one of these attacks, wherever it is anywhere in the world, we learn from and we make adjustments and we reassess the circumstances in light of the new intelligence we receive," he said.
A manhunt is now underway for one of the three men believed to have conducted the Brussels bombings; his two suspected co-conspirators reportedly died during the suicide bombings.
Belgium, in the meantime, has declared three days of mourning. The first identified victim of the bombings is 37-year-old Peruvian woman Adelma Tapia Ruiz. Her husband and twin daughters survived the attack.
Adele pledged the performance of “Make You Feel My Love” at her March 22 concert in London “to Brussels.” She was joined by an audience holding their phones aloft.
