Adele Says “Goodbye” To Streaming; "25" Won't Be Available On Spotify Or Apple Music

Spotify has been denied a piece of the 25 pie.
Following in the footsteps of Taylor Swift, Adele has denied Spotify her sure-to-be gargantuan new album 25/ Though its lead single “Hello” and her previous albums 19 and 21 are available on the streaming service, it seems Adele just wasn’t keen on giving them her latest record. Given that 25 is expected to become the biggest album of the decade – with 3.6 million copies being shipped out to retailers in America alone, making it the biggest release since N*SYNC’s No Strings Attached in 2000 – it’s unlikely she needs the support. The spurned, tear-strewn Spotify - after playing “Someone Like You” on repeat, probably – released a statement begging for her return. "We love and respect Adele, as do her 24 million fans on Spotify. We hope that she will give those fans the opportunity to enjoy 25 on Spotify alongside 19 and 21 very soon," they scream-cried (emphasis ours). Spotify can take some solace in the fact Adele won’t let 25 stream on any services (at least, as of its first day of release). According to the New York Times, 25 won’t be available on Apple Music or Tidal either. (Even Tay-Tay relented and gave 1989 to Apple.) The most ironic part of this announcement is that it comes ahead of "World Hello Day", celebrated on November 21. So, happy Hello Day? 25 is now available (just not to stream).Topics
