About 200,000 Apps Will Be Sent to the Apple Graveyard When iOS 11 Comes Out

Apple is getting ready to bury 32-bit apps with their latest update and that means sayonara to about 200,000 apps on the App Store.

iOS 11, due out sometime in the next week, is set to drop support for 32-bit apps, which means that these slower-processing apps will no longer work once your iPhone has been updated.

Sensor Tower estimated about eight per cent of the App Store has these now-outdated apps, which totals up to 187,000. The majority of these are games; probably those shoddy ones that look great in the previews but make zero sense IRL.

To check if your apps will be thrust into app oblivion, go to Settings>General>About. If you see Applications, tap on it and it will show you if there any 32-bit applications. If there are none there, you're fine. If there are some and no updates available for them, then...

But, in happier news, the iOS 11 comes with a ton of shiny, gimmicky features.

There'll be some new camera features such as loop and bounce, which basically takes the Boomerang app's whole purpose and puts it in the bin. There's also long exposure, which is sure to make your iPhone feel a little more like a pro-camera.

And animojis.

Animojis are apparently like regular emojis but are instead animated by using facial and voice recognition.

Updates are so bitter-sweet.
