Tweet of the Day: ABC Grandstand Just Gave Australia an Epic Serve

Politics with purpose.

ABC Grandstand, ABC's sports section, is not necessarily known for its hot takes on Australia's current political environment.

But today, they gave it a crack and hit for six, swished a three-pointer and scored a try under the posts. Basically, it was a beautifully executed gooooooooooooooooooooooool.

Get it? Because while Honduras is written off as a nation with serious political and human rights issues, Australia has its own similar problems. Currently, Australian politics is extremely occupied with a baffling citizenship crisis due to many politicians not realising they are, in fact, dual citizens, which is not permitted under the Constitution.

On top of that, the United Nations has called for Australia not to "pick and choose" which international laws it decides to follow in regards to the Manus Island refugees that the Australian Government has chosen to neglect.

So, yeah, by ABC Grandstand-ards, Australia isn't so different from Honduras (although Honduras is otherwise tagged with the title of murder capital of the world).

Naturally, the people cheered in agreement.

But, of course, with every good thing that comes from the internet, comes to the slew of conservative bridge trolls.

Still, I can't help but wonder if Australia can ever truly recover from this ego-demolishing Tweet.
