Aaron Paul Said Another Breaking Bad Spin-Off Was Coming, Then Took It Back

He chose a half-measure.

Better Call Saul is filling the Breaking Bad-sized hole in our hearts, but most fans of the original Emmy-winning drama still sincerely miss Aaron Paul’s long-suffering character Jesse Pinkman.

So, it was with great cruelty that Paul teased a “top secret” project on Instagram and then proceeded to Periscope the details to the world: it was to be a Breaking Bad spin-off written by creator Vince Gilligan and concerned with Jesse’s adventures in Alaska.

At the end of the 12-minute video, he announced it was all just a big joke, fuelled by boredom.

The Internet was not particularly chill about this revelation.

Paul later took to Twitter to apologise, but some bells can’t be unrung.

Just in case you’re holding out hope he’ll double-backflip and say the spin-off (let’s call it, Jesse!) is actually happening, Paul has just booked a leading role on Hulu’s new ten-part series The Way.

This is some cold, Walter White-level manipulation.
